Cashmere is a luxury item and makes some of the finest clothing that you can buy anywhere in the world. Cashmere is very warm to wear, yet is remains light and soft but still strong. If you are looking for something to keep you nice and warm this winter, but not too hot or bulky then you should consider a cashmere cardigan. The great thing about a cardigan is that you can open the front to regulate the temperature if you get too hot, or do it back up again if you get a bit cold. Having one made out of a fine material such as cashmere means that it will feel divine and not be too heavy to wear. Cardigans have also become very trendy for both men and women in recent years, so you find that although they may be a little more expensive to start with, they will last a long time if you look after them and will never really go out of fashion.
Caring for your cashmere jumper or cardigan is a matter of following a few simple principles. Firstly, avoid too much perfume or getting deodorant on to the top as this could cause discoloration. Only wash it when it really needs it and use cold water as hot will cause it to shrink as it cools down. Wash it by hand and use a mild detergent (or a diluted form of your normal detergent). When you are drying your cardigan try and lay it flat if possible and gently reshape it. If you hang it up when it is heavy with water there is a possibility it could stretch and the garment could become misshapen.
Look after your cashmere cardigan and it will give you many warm winters of wear.
